With the world moving at a fast pace, newly married couples also want everything to happen very quickly. Couples come for consultation within six months of marriage for difficulty in conceiving.
Until a couple has lived for a minimum of 12 months, with the normal pattern of sexual intercourse, without protection infertility investigation shouldn’t be started. Even today the woman is investigated extensively before a simple semen analysis is asked for.
There are couples who conceive early in their married life. Some take more time. We have to understand that there are so many factors that contribute to normal pregnancy. Achieving pregnancy is a chance event and even when both partners are normal.
